EU PPWR Regulation Creates New Opportunities for Sustainable Tableware

The EU's "Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR)" has come into effect, and some single-use plastic packaging and food-contact packaging will be subject to stricter restrictions. 
The regulations also impose restrictions on PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in food packaging, which is driving the catering industry to seek more natural, safe and biodegradable alternative materials. Wooden tableware, sugarcane pulp tableware and natural fiber products have become popular choices for purchase.
